After being spoiled with warm weather in December and most of January, old man winter finally came to town. It's freezing in New York, and the cold rain and snow showers only makes things worse. Possibly the most notorious label to come out of Australia is sass & bide.

Founded by Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton, the label began as a stall on London's Portobello Road. sass & bide is now huge in the US, Europe, South East Asia and the Middle East.

Winter Warmers Part 2

Famed handbag designer Rafe Totengco recently launched a low-priced line for Target. The bags may be low in price but are definitely high on style. The line is made up of hobos, satchels, and clutches with all the same pockets, rivets, zippers, and other details that make Rafe bags popular. All have distinct stitching, tons of hardware, and patent finishes. Though made of PVC, the collections looks luxurious and is affordable enough that you can pick up one of each style, for less than one 'It' bag!

Winter Warmers

As winter draws in, I thought I'd take a look for some nice coats to recommend. However, what I ended up finding was a highly unsuitable cropped jacket, which would be great for spring but won't keep you at all warm over the next few months.

This would look gorgeous in April/May over a vest top or t-shirt, and is definitely going on my Christmas wish list.

In contrast, I did find this long jacquard coat on Dorothy Perkins, which would keep you lovely and warm, and also has a beautiful old fashioned feel.

If the price is too steep for you at £100, there is a slightly cheaper black coat, also from Dorothy Perkins which is much simpler and is only £70. It's still quite expensive, but with a winter coat it's definitely worth paying extra to get a good quality coat you can wear for several years. -Layla
